The Seven Sorrows of Our Lady - Daily Meditations

The Virgin Mary also presented 7 promises to St. Bridget of Sweden for those souls who honor and accompany her daily, praying seven Hail Marys as they meditate on her tears and sorrows.

  • Meditated Version: The daily meditation on the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady presented in this blog is recommended, as it is based on the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows as taught by Our Lady to Marie-Claire in Kibeho, Rwanda.

  • Short Version: When time is short, this abbreviated version can be used, although the more meditated version is always recommended for greater spiritual benefit. The most important thing, in any case, is the faith and respect with which this devotion is performed: the Lord and His Blessed Mother will see the intentions we carry in our hearts.

Notice:

While the versions of the Daily Meditation and the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows presented here are recommended for their profound meditations and prayers as taught by Our Lady, any other version, if prayed with devotion, is equally valid.

Advice:

1) It is essential not to reduce this devotion to a superstition: nothing is guaranteed without true faith and a coherent Christian life. Otherwise, we would be dishonoring the mercy of God, who offers this devotion to His Mother as a help for us to one day attain eternal life.

2) It is also vital to remain humble, acknowledging that it is very difficult—if not impossible—to always pray and meditate with the faith, devotion, reverence, and focus required to obtain the promises of this devotion. Rather than discouraging us, this should move us to ask the Lord and His Blessed Mother to look more upon our intentions and our sincere desire to carry out this beautiful practice. And we must trust that, more by their mercy than by our own actions, we may obtain the promises attached to this devotion.
